Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Map Guide: Regions, Markers & Ability Gates

At a glance

Use World, Area and Sub-Area views to locate Rose, mark blocked routes and revisit them after each new movement ability.

Read the map in layers

Switch between World, Area and Sub-Area views. Use Focus on Rose to return to your position and Place/Erase Marker to save a blocked passage or collectible. The map also displays remaining marker capacity and an upper-map control. Follow the button prompts for your input device.

Mark a ledge before leaving it. When you obtain a new ability, revisit marked rooms rather than clearing every branch immediately. A distant lever-operated door may still require exploring the other side.

Match the obstacle to the unlock

Obstacle Unlock or requirement
Yellow and purple grapple anchors Arcane Whip
Chaos Shards Holy Light
Wide airborne gaps Aerial Rush
Breakable floor blocks and sculptures Smash
Later high platforms in Notre-Dame Double Jump
Notre-Dame painting The Artist’s Masterpiece and Brauner’s Paintbrush
Catacombs Gate Fallen, Prophetess and Warrior keys

Regional route

The main progression runs through Paris Streets → Holy Innocents’ Cemetery / Prison Tower → Catacombs → Justice District → Castle Main Hall. The castle connects Library, Clock Tower and Hall of Mirrors. Notre-Dame is reached through its painting route.

This is a regional route reference, not a room-by-room collectible map. Use Tarot clues alongside your own markers when following optional branches.

Travel back efficiently

Mirror travel connects discovered destinations within the same region. The Ferryman’s docks handle travel between regions. If crouching at a mirror starts an effect and then cancels, check whether you have met the Ferryman in Catacombs first; this prerequisite has been reported on PC and Steam Deck.
