Reach the arena
Enter the first large boss doorway below Path of the Rat. Refill at the nearby Mirror of Life before committing to the fight.
Handle the attack patterns
| Attack | Response |
|---|---|
| Three-hit melee combo | Move behind the first two swings. The boss turns toward Rose for the third swing, so change sides again or move out of range. |
| Spinning cross | Remember the return path. Attack the projectile when it enters weapon range to destroy it. |
| Straight whip attack | Slide beneath its line rather than standing directly in front of it. |
| Swing and landing | Leave the landing area before moving in to attack. |
After the roar, account for the added whip attacks. Do not treat sliding through one attack as proof that every attack can be ignored.
Collect the reward and continue
Hold the absorption prompt to obtain The Fallen / Holy Cross and the Fallen key. Continue right into Abandoned Sewers and finish the following conversation and tutorial to learn Arcane Whip.
The boss reward and the grapple tutorial are consecutive unlocks. Winning the fight alone is not the end of the traversal tutorial.
