Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Accessibility Options & Custom Mode

At a glance

Adjust Screen Shake Intensity and High Readability under Accessibility. Gameplay’s Custom Mode changes potion capacity, damage and survival options.

Make the action easier to read

Open Settings → Accessibility. Adjust Screen Shake Intensity, enable High Readability if useful and tune the character and enemy outline colors and thickness to suit your screen.

Change the challenge with Custom Mode

Open Settings → Gameplay → Enable Custom Mode. The options include additional potions, reduced incoming enemy damage, increased outgoing damage and preventing death. These are built-in game settings.

Change the setting that addresses your immediate difficulty, refill at a mirror and retry the encounter. The default potion capacity is three; Custom Mode can increase it.

Achievements and controller input

A PC player reports earning the Joan achievement with Custom enabled. That single achievement does not establish the behavior of every achievement or PS5 trophy. Avoid basing a platinum plan on that assumption.

D-pad down has been reported to trigger crouching and the mirror-entry effect on PC with an Xbox Series X controller. This does not establish full D-pad movement or every menu-navigation option. Use the controls and prompts available in your own settings screen.
